How to Fix Trend Micro Scanning Issue?

Is your Trend Micro internet security scan is not completed and you can’t able to close the antivirus program? Then you are dealing with the scanning issue. This issue is caused by either of the following reason given below:

  • Due to extreme usage of CPU
  • Or due current scanning file got locked or corrupted

Method1: Restart Scanning process

  • Firstly, press ‘Ctrl+Alt+Delete’ key on the keyboard at once and then click on Task manager from the options.
  • Then select quick/full scan in progress window under the application tab in the task manager windows and then tap on End task button.
  • Now hit on end now when a warning window appears saying ‘this program is not responding’.
  • If still, the scan doesn’t stop then: go to the processes tab on the task manager and then select an instance of ‘uiWinMgr.exe’ and then hit on end process button.
  • After that, restart your system and then run the scan again on your system.

Method2: Add file to the exception list

  • First of all, you have to open the antivirus main console and then hit on settings.
  • Then click on ‘exception list’ and then click on ‘programs/folders’. 
  • Now tap on Add and then hit on Browse. 
  • Then go to the file by following its path and then right-click on the file and select open from the menu.
  • Finally, click on OK and then tap on Apply and then again hit on OK to save the settings.
